Log Data
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics. In addition, we may use third party services that collect, monitor and analyze this log data.
Error and Performance Monitoring Service

Privacy Policy
Student Data
Student data is provided by schools and/or districts and used solely for legitimate educational purposes, in compliance with FERPA and applicable Federal and State laws. We act as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest under the FERPA exception at 34 CFR §99.31(a)(1), and we process student records only under the direction of the school or district that provides them. Student-identifiable data is confidential and is only accessible to authorized personnel or entities under agreements with schools or districts. We retain this data for as long as necessary to fulfill educational objectives or as required by law. Upon termination of services, all identifiable student data will be securely deleted. Parents or eligible students may access, review, or request corrections to their data by contacting their school or district.
All student and parent accounts are provisioned by the school or district from records the school or district already maintains. For students under the age of 13, we collect personal information only with the consent of the student's school or school district, solely for educational purposes, as permitted under COPPA. We do not use student data for advertising and do not sell it to any party.
Student, parent, guardian, and district data is not used to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Google Account Data
What we access. When you choose "Sign in with Google," we request only the openid, userinfo.email, and userinfo.profile scopes, which provide your Google account identifier, email address, and name. We request no other scopes.
How we use it. We use your email address solely to match you to an account created by your school or district and to sign you in, and your name to display your identity within the application.
How we share it. We do not sell or transfer Google account data to any third party. It is shared only with the school or district that authorized your account, and with the service providers that operate the Site on our behalf under contract, which may process it only as we instruct. Those providers are described under Service Providers below.
How we protect it. Google account data is protected by the measures described under Data Security below.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it. We store no Google access or refresh tokens; the authorization token is discarded once you are signed in. We retain your email address and name while your account exists. When your school or district removes you, your account is deactivated; the underlying record is deleted when our agreement with the school or district ends. You may revoke our access at any time at Google Account Permissions, and may request deletion of your data by contacting your school or district or contacting us.
Limited Use Disclosure
MyEducationData's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements, sell it, transfer it for credit-worthiness or lending purposes, or use it to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Other Authentication Providers
When you sign in using Microsoft, Yahoo, or Clever, we collect your name and email address and handle them as described above for Google account data.
Newsletters and Notifications
Schools and districts send newsletters and notifications through the Site by email, by text message where the school or district has enabled it, and by push notification to our mobile application. We use the email address and phone number your school or district provides to deliver them, and we store the notification token your device issues along with the device platform to deliver push notifications.
You may change or stop these messages at any time on the Notification Preferences page, by replying STOP to a text message, or by turning off notifications in your device's settings.
Service Providers
We share data with a small number of service providers — cloud hosting and storage, message delivery, translation, error monitoring, and the optional staff drafting tools — each engaged to deliver a specific part of the Site, each restricted to the minimum data needed to do so, and each contractually obligated to safeguard that data and to process it only as we instruct. A current list is available to schools and districts on request.
Cookie Policy
We place cookies in your browser to keep you signed in, to remember your preferences, and to support the third party services named above. We use both session and persistent cookies on the Site.
Data Security
All data transfer, storage, and processing is conducted using industry standard secure systems and practices. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored encrypted at rest.
Changes To These Policies
The disclaimers, terms, and policies identified on this page for the Site are effective as of 09/22/2026 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.
