Mission: Berrien CAN, through MGSSLC and the IEA will establish and promote pathways to increase the readiness of its citizens to succeed in school, college, and career

Vision: College is any postsecondary attainment – “college” refers to any attainment of high-quality credentials beyond high school, including professional/technical certificates and academic degrees


  • By 2024, 80% of children will enter kindergarten meeting readiness benchmarks
  • By 2024, the percentage of Berrien County 3rd grade students meeting proficiency benchmarks in English Language Arts (ELA) will increase by 20%
  • By 2024, the percentage of Berrien County high school students graduating in 4-years with a high school diploma or equivalent will increase by 10%
  • By 2025, 60% of Berrien County residents will hold degrees, certificates, or other high-quality post- secondary credentials
